Last night, I went to a good friend’s daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. It was actually my first time ever going to one and it was GREAT. In the teachings of Kabbalah, when a girl turns twelve years old, she takes on the responsibility of her spirituality and it is no longer the accountability of her parents. It was a beautiful rite of passage and one of the most touching ones I have ever seen. Mira was glowing last night and her courage to be so authentic when speaking to her audience was so moving. I had tears in my eyes.
