Monday in Durango

Today I woke up at 6:30 in the morning. My host family is wonferful. I was really using my Spanish with Tokio, Pedro’s son. I couldn’t believe that I was holding a conversation in Spanish. Tokio took us to the center of town to an internet cafe so that we could check our emails. James, one of our computer refurbishment instructors spent most of the time on the computer while I spoke with Tokio in Spanish. It was such an amazing experience. I felt like I really came out of my shell last night.

This morning, we were introduced to the entire COBAED school in their courtyard. It was amazing. We received such warmth from the students. My web design team was joined by a group of Mexican students today to work on our web projects. We spent an hour taking pictures of each other to include on our websites.

Then we were called in for an emergency meeting at the director’s office. It turns out that all the COBAED schools in Durango plan to go on strike tomorrow.
