Summer’s Last Stand

I had an eventful Labor Day weekend. It truly was summer’s last stand.  I spent the first part of it at the North Coast Music Festival in Union Park at the Ai booth, talking to EDM loving kids about college and creative careers.  I got to see a few cool acts: Tommy Trash, Alesso and Atmosphere. This is the second EDM festival I attended this summer, and like the first one (Spring Awakening), it reminded me of my raving days when I would stay up all night and jam to dance music with my glow sticks.  Makes me feel good to see that things haven’t changed for the next generation 🙂

For the second half of the holiday weekend I worked the Color Me Africa booth with my colleague Soraya Sheppard, representing South African artists supporting their voices to be heard and their stories to be told in America.  I had the best time talking with people and exploring the grounds to view art work.  It was definitely a long weekend of exploration.  I had never been to these two festivals and they were both worth experiencing.
