I went to a networking event this Thursday and the guest speaker was Judah Kertz (JudahBuddha.com). He spoke about saying “no”. It was quite an interesting topic, especially if you are a business owner like myself. Who would say no to a client? What I got out of it was the possibility of trying on the practice of really thinking about something before I decide to say “yes”, which is my automatic response to everything! Have you ever seen the movie “Yes Man” starring Jim Carey? Well, that guy is me. I am such a yes to life. But I really saw the value in saying “no”. It really provides the opportunity for me to think about what my real commitments are. Saying no may open up the possibility of something that may move your commitments forward rather than slow the process down. Where in your life are you not saying no?
